A little bit about me....
I was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo where my parents worked for over forty years. I attended three different elementary schools and two different high schools. I graduated from The Ubangi Academy in Congo in a class of seven.
I attended North Park University where I earned my bachelor's degree in Mathematics with a minor in Physics. I earned my MST degree from The University of Illinois (Chicago campus).
I just finished my twenty-eighth year of teaching: the last twenty-two with CPS at Von Steuben Metropolitan Science Center. Prior to that I taught at Fenwick High School in Oak Park, Illinois and Orozco Jr High in the Pilsen neighborhood in Chicago (also with CPS).
I am currently the Mathematics Department Chair at Von Steuben and have taught all levels of mathematics from Double Period Algebra 1 to A.P. Calculus.
I have three children and my wife and I will be celebrating our 27th anniversary this summer.
I am avid Cubs fan, Bob Dylan is my favorite musician, and in my spare time I enjoy doing small construction projects. I have been remodeling our home every since we bought it eighteen years ago...

Beginning a journey with Michigan State University:
I just started a STEM and Leadership Teaching Fellowship through MSU-Wipro. I am looking forward to learning more ways to merge pedagogy, technology, and content on a daily basis in my mathematics classroom.
